What is Amazonia?

Amazonia is another term for the Amazon Rainforest, a vast tropical rainforest located in South America. It is the largest rainforest in the world and is home to an estimated 390 billion individual trees belonging to 16,000 different species. The Amazon Rainforest is located in the countries of Brazil, Peru, Colombia, Venezuela, Ecuador, Bolivia, Guyana, Suriname, and French Guiana. It is an incredibly biodiverse ecosystem and is home to a wide variety of plant and animal life, including many species that are found nowhere else on Earth. The Amazon Rainforest is also home to millions of people, including many indigenous communities who have lived in the region for centuries.
